10 EXTRA HOURS IN THE OMEGA BALLPIT
Hello! Thank you for taking time to write out all these essays, I really enjoy reading them :D I'd just like to ask you about your take of the vampire society's coexistence with the human society, do you think it's somewhat like the wizarding world in Harry Potter? Where they mostly keep to themselves and don't quite know about human society? It's mentioned that Aidou didn't know about common things like human parties in a drama cd and they do have some pretty outdated customs like soirees.
Ah! Thank you so much! Im glad you enjoy my writings ~
That is most likely true. I believe most vampires basically live in their own ‘vampire world’. After all, most of their homes are underground or disguised by abandoned buildings such as the ball they had that Yuki accidentally stumbled upon when trying to return a vampire kid to his mother. And of course since the whole point of Cross academy is to get the humans and vampires to live peacefully together, i believe they live ‘separately’.
However, many of them are a part of the human world indicated by Yuki as she recognizes most vampires at the ball as well known people and famous actresses. So for the most part they are separated but there are some that are a part of the human societies.
Thanks for the question ~
First of all, I really love your blog! I am somewhat of a Vampire Knight fan (I'm re-watching the anime for the first time in like, eternity omg) and I used to really love it back when it was popular in 2012. I've decided to write a fanfic and created an OC. Do you do critiques of Vampire Knight ocs at all and if so, could I send you her profile? I want her to be unique but not Mary-Sue ish. :)
Oh you do? Thank you so so much :D im glad to know someone enjoys what i do.
Oh? Coolie. I have an Oc for vampire knight of my own too. Ive honestly never critiqued an Original character before but id be happy to give it a tr for you :} Its always nice to try new things out as well as getting other people’s take on your characters.
Be sure to send me the profile when you can~
I recently re-watched A Series of Unfortunate Events, and a conversation between Klaus and Violet Baudelaire stuck out to me. In the conversation, Klaus asked Violet how The Baudelaire Parents could have no contingency plans for their children's well being in case they died. Do you think Zero feels the same? That – like Klaus – he sometimes can't help but resent his parents for their negligence in regards to a contingency plan? I don't think they even left anything for Zero or Ichiru.
Honestly ive never really seen any resentment Zero might have had for his parents. There was some for Ichiru since, after all, he did cause the slaughter but none i could see for his mom and dad.
In all honesty, i dont think there was anything left to be given to either of the boys. I dont think you get ‘paid’ to be a vampire hunter—at least i havent seen that they have—so if thats true, that means they make money in conventional ways with real jobs. (like Yagari who has a teaching license) And since they are constantly moving so that no vampire can find them, money must have been tight. Hunters are constantly moving around so it wasnt like they had any permanent home to give them. Much like gypsies and vagabonds, hunters have to deal with having very little to nothing possession wise. Their lives are filled with traveling and exterminating so i dont think any hunter parents have anything set up for their children.
As i’ve said in another ask, i believe that it is the master’s duty to take on the children. They are the ones that were helping raise them after all and they are the ones training them to be hunters. So that is probably what the ultimate plan was in case of death. I believe hunters help other hunters in this universe. If something happens, the hunter’s children will be taken in by another hunter family. At least that is my theory since premature death is so common.
(You do have to factor in that Zero’s parents didnt think they would be killed together at the exact same time. Thats a pretty rare thing to happen except in novels and movies XD So im sure after one parent’s death the other might…retire as a hunter or something like that?)
I believe in the end, since Zero is such an understanding person, he held no resentment for them besides…maybe feeling that they should have given Ichiru more attention? Since he said that before in the manga…but i mean if you were the mother of twin boys wouldnt you treat them equal? So thats my take on it! Very interesting question btw.
(Art by kiryuzero ~ )
I know we know next to nothing about the Kiryu Parents, but I'm hoping you know something the rest of us don't. Do Ichiru and Zero have any type of Legal Guardian, like maybe Godparents? Their parents were famous vampire hunters, so they must've had something planned incase they died early. If there isn't any canon information about this, could you just toss out a theory? Your VK theories are cool.
(sorry this took forever & thank you so much ! ^_^)
It has been talked about in the vampire knight novel that the hunters were very aware that they could be killed at any time which was why they took so many pictures but i never heard of any plans they had for their kids. So it isnt anywhere written in the side novel i read or the manga.
So if i would have to give a guess at it i’m thinking the ‘godparents’ are actually the hunter’s children’s master. Since their masters are the ones that are supposed to be the ones teaching them how to be hunters, it makes sense.
Plus when Kaito ran away from his home he was allowed to live with his master instead of being forced to go back with his parents. The reason Yagari left Zero with Kaien was because one, he was going out to find Shizuka and find out how she got loose and two, Zero was turning into a vampire and so Yagari couldnt handle that while he was playing detective.
Noticing that he did indeed have Zero with him after the incident leads me to believe thats how things work out in the hunter world. Hope that answers your question!
Thanks for asking ~
